What this is built on.

Eight papers sit under the method. One is in people, two are reviews, and the other five are animal, cell or lab work — a reason to try something, not proof that it works in you. Each line says which, so you can weigh it yourself.

Why the break comes first

In people

Daily users' CB1 receptors scanned about 15% below normal. Two days of monitored abstinence closed that gap — and the people whose receptors had recovered least were the ones with the worst withdrawal.

Repeated dosing changed how cannabinoid receptors bound in the brain, while a single dose left them binding more tightly. Tolerance and sensitivity are one dial, turned two ways.

Why you climb one puff at a time

In rats

Doses far too low to relieve pain on their own still amplified the body's own endocannabinoid pain relief. A small dose isn't a faint version of a large one — it does something different.
